3 easy ways to get turmeric into your dog’s diet

So many people are telling me time and time again how their dogs mobility is improving by incorporating turmeric into their diet.

Here are some simple suggestions to do so:

Simply sprinkle 1/4 -1/2 teaspoon onto their evening meal.  I do this every night.

Or make ahead golden paste: 1/2 cup turmeric, 3/4 cup water, 1/3 cup organic coconut oil, pinch of black pepper. Mix together in a saucepan.  Bring to the boil and then simmer for 5 minutes.  Store in a covered glass jar, keeps for 1 month.  This can be added to recipes and yes, for you too!  Great on steamed new baby potatoes with a little chopped parsley 🙂

You can even add this to make banana golden paste doggy ice creams for the warmer weather:

ingredients for doggy ice cream with banana and golden paste

Ingredients:

1 cup Greek yoghurt

1 banana

1 Tbsp golden paste

6 Upward Facing doggie treats – crushed (optional)

Method:

Mix the first 3 ingredients and blend with a stick blender

Crush the dog biscuits separately, sprinkle at the end or through banana mixture for crunch factor!

These ice treats can be made ahead and stored in the freezer  for one of those hot days that are heading our way and are they going to be hot!
